Blackjack

 Blackjack is a WONDERFUL, young 4 year old Arabian gelding. He is my husband's first new horse after Luka's passing last year. I can't imagine who would give this lovely young gelding up, but their loss is my gain! Blackjack was at the Camelot (kill) auction in NJ when some very lovely ladies alerted me about him via ABR and my personal email. I called the lot in NJ and purchased him over the phone. What a great buy! I can't believe this guy was going to ship to slaughter! He is DEAD broke, bomb proof, BLACK, and TALL (for an Arabian) at 15.2 My husband rides him and really adores him, and that makes two of us! Blackjack was the snag of the Century!!! We're glad to add him to the family!

"Jazzercised" AKA "Nic"

 Nic's story is a long and complicated one! Please see "Success stories"  (We made the news!)

Nic is so very special to me, I pulled him out of an over packed kill pen (when he was 5 yrs old) at New Holland auction with my own two hands and risked my head being kicked off my shoulders by some very frightened horses, fighting for their lives.. (literally) :( I believe Nic knows what I did for him that day, he shows me his appreciation everyday. He is a permanent resident here at SHAR, he is my personal horse and my trusted soulmate. Nic (registered name of  "Jazzercised") is an off the track Thoroughbred that I saved from slaughter literally in the "Nic" of time!!!! And- I just couldn't love him more! 

Truly Majikhal (Majik)

 Majik- Is not a rescue, he is my (now) 5 year old Arabian show horse, who is currently kicking ass and taking names! Trained by Terie Ellis of "Ellis Supreme Arabians". I've had Majik since he was a yearling, and bought him when I lived in Idaho... This gelding has the mind of a seasoned pro. His very first show out, was an AHA points show in Farmington Utah in April of 2009; This amazing young gelding shocked us all when he went into the show ring like he'd been doing it for years! Aren't babies suppose to blow a fuse at their very first show? Majik won several classes at that show. We even took reserve champion in "Sport horse in hand" By 2010 Majik is THE horse to beat and going strong!!! 

Majik is tall 15.2 hands (and still growing) and he is correct! He is an elegant mover and has the absolute prettiest head.  Majik qualified for Sport Horse Nationals his VERY fist show! Now that's impressive!

Prince

 **Prince** is a (now) 13 year old gelding, that was brought to the New Holland "Killer" sale with instructions from his owners to "get rid of him" because he was apparently "stupid and doesn't do anything" He was sold direct to slaughter, and then bought by a broker, then rescued from the broker and brought to me for rehab. Prince is a huge mystery, he was very obviously abused and is jumpy at times but has gotten so much better over the last year and a half. Prince use to be scared of absolutely everything, very spooky, and his very serious psychical abuse was obvious and more than likely from a man (he is still scared of men).  Prince use to flinch, shakes and shutter if you moved around him too fast, he is very quiet on the ground now. Undoing this mis-trust  will take years but we've got a great start on it...  Prince trusts women almost instantly, he does not trust men and is extremely uncomfortable in their presence. Prince contracted strangles while in QT at New Holland. When he finally came to me nearly two months later, he was about 350 lbs under weight, and was nothing less than a dead horse walking.  Prince and I have been through quiet a bit together, and have developed such an amazingly tight bond;  I have hopes for him yet- The fact that this horse trusts anyone is amazing... He has been through so much, which is why I have decided, if a suitable companion only home cannot be found, then Safe Haven Arabians is this boy's  FINAL destination.  Anyone out there interested in an absolute sweetheart of a horse to be a companion for one of yours? *UPDATE* After more than one year Prince is currently 100% and healthy...  He is being trained to lunge and excersise and is doing very, very well and likes having a job.

CFA Secret Weapon

 CFA Secret Weapon- (Not a rescue) He is my amazingly bred Arabian show gelding, he is a Padron Psyche grandson, and has already won many awards in halter class. "Dante'" is Secret Weapon's barn name. This gorgeous boy is four this year, with already 13 months professional training under his belt under saddle, at "Ellis Supreme Arabians" We show at the biggest shows, including Sport Horse Nationals. I fly all the way from PA to out West to show my two boys "Majik and Dante" and it's a blast! 

**UPDATE** "Dante' decided Idaho is not for him, and is coming home to PA to be trained at Equistar... We hope to have him in the show ring soon! 

Luka R.I.P

 Luka is my husband's riding horse. We call him "Ol' faithful" you can depend on Lu for anything, he is a calm and quiet ride, making him a perfect horse for the hubby! Luka is just shy of 15.3 hands, and is an Anglo-Arabian (Half TB, Half Arab) Luka was not a rescue, I bought him from a lovely young lady, who took the very best care of him! 

**Luka** passed away on April 13th 2009 at 13 years old :( He is missed tremendously and we will never forget him. R.I.P Luka.... :(
